  • What counselling services are available?

    At landscape of life we provide counselling for individuals, couples and families. Counselling services are designed to:

    • enrich, renew or repair a relationship
    • enhance physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing
    • develop a greater sense of meaning and purpose in life
    • manage current problems, crises or longer-term difficulties 
    • change long standing patterns of behaviour that impact relationships and wellbeing.
  • What are the fees for counselling consultations?

     Individual Counselling

    • Individual Counselling consultation (before 6pm) - $180/hour
    • Individual Counselling consultation (after 6pm) - $220/hour 

     

    Couples Counselling

    • Couples Counselling consultation (before 6pm) - $250/hour
    • Couples Counselling consultation (after 6pm) - $290/hour  

     

    Initial counselling consultation are usually:

    • Individual Counselling - 1 hour
    • Couples Counselling - 1.5 hour
    • Couples in crisis - 2 hours

     

    Ongoing counselling consultations are usually:

    • Individual Counselling - 1 hour
    • Couple Counselling - 1 hour
  • Are private health insurance rebates or government subsidies available?

    Jo is a clinically registered counsellor with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia).

    Clients insured with Medibank Private (using their "Package Bonus Cover"), BUPA or ARHG may have the option to claim counselling consultations. To find out your eligibility please contact your health insurance fund.

    Rebate of fees is not available with other health insurers or Medicare Mental Health Care Plans.

  • How long are counselling consultations?

    Appointment duration depends on the counselling service provided.

    Initial counselling consultation are usually:

    • Individual Counselling - 1 hour
    • Couples Counselling - 1.5 hour
    • Couples in crisis - 2 hours

     

    Ongoing counselling consultations are usually:

    • Individual Counselling - 1 hour
    • Couple Counselling - 1 hour

     

    During the initial appointment your counsellor will assess your situation and needs and together you will decide the frequency and duration of your consultations. 

  • What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy for counselling appointments?

    Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy - effective 1 September 2022
    If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice. The following fees will automatically be charged to the credit or debit card (Visa or MasterCard) you have provided as a late cancellation/rescheduling fee with less than 48 hours notice:
    • 24-48 hours notice, 50% of the fee payable.
    • 0-24 hours notice, full fee payable. 
  • What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy for couples counselling retreats and intensives?

    Cancellation Policy for Couples Counselling Intensives and Retreats

    1. Payment of 50% the fees is made at the time of booking.
    2. Cancellation requests must be received in writing to info@landscapeoflife.com.au
    3. For cancellations, the following applies:
      • more than 14 days prior to the start date, the booking fee is refunded, minus a $150 cancellation fee;
      • within 7- 14 days of your scheduled booking, 50% of the booking fee is refunded;
      • within 7 days of your scheduled booking, there is NO refund of the booking fee;
      • alternatively, you may reschedule your booking without incurring a fee, depending on availability.
    4. In the case of a medical or family emergency, registration may be transferred or refunded (in consultation with your therapist)
    5. Registration transfer: Registrations are transferable in full to another person on notification.
    6. Booking cancellation: In the event that the booking is cancelled by landscape of life, a refund will be issued in full.
  • What is the cancellation policy for the Mindful Self-Compassion · 8 week program?

    Cancellation Policy for the Mindful Self-Compassion · 8 week program

    1. Payment is to be made in full at the time of registration.
    2. Cancellation requests must be received in writing to info@landscapeoflife.com.au
    3. For cancellations, the following applies:
      • more than 30 days prior to the start date, the registration fee is refunded, minus a $50 cancellation fee;
      • within 30 days of the MSC program start date, 50% of the registration fee is refunded;
      • within 7 days of the MSC program start date, there is NO refund;
      • alternatively, you may move to another program without incurring a fee, depending on course/group availability.
    4. In the case of a medical or family emergency, registration may be transferred or refunded (in consultation with the instructors)
    5. Registration transfer: Registrations are transferable in full to another person on notification.
    6. Course cancellation: In the event that the course is cancelled, a refund will be issued in full.
  • How will the counsellor support me?

    As a wellbeing and relationship counsellor Jo Gniel works with respect for the uniqueness of each client’s values, beliefs and right for self-determination.

    The non-judgemental, accepting nature of counselling provides a space to face painful experiences, explore and resolve issues and illuminate the unknown aspects of self. Counselling helps take people beyond where they might go themselves.
