Mindful Self Compassion (MSC)
Our culture propagates the fantasy that we can avoid pain and that happiness is dependant upon the circumstances of our life. There is no way of avoiding the pain of life's struggles. What we need is wisdom in the ways we navigate the bittersweet symphony of life.
It takes courage to stand up to harm, including that we unwittingly inflict on ourselves through self-criticism, self-isolation, self-rumination or the projection of our pain onto others, when things go wrong.
Many of us have not a model of how to respond to life’s difficult moments with kindness, care or understanding. Our efforts to suppress pain only amplifies the distress and disconnection we feel from ourselves and others. Self-compassion is a skill that can be learned by anyone, even those who feel uncomfortable when they are good to themselves.
Mindful Self-Compassion can help you:
- Learn powerful practices to apply to the challenges faced in daily life
- Recognise your triggers and develop emotional agility
- Develop compassionate action to enhance your capacity to respond
- Slow down mentally, to boost your focus, productivity and performance
- Reduce stress and adopt a calmer, kinder approach to life
- Develop a better relationship with yourself and others
- Discover a greater sense of wellbeing and happiness life
